Shared note | His sailing immigration documents show that Stefan Alaksa came to Canada in 1927 at age 24, via SS Marburn - Canadian Pacific Line. He departed Antwerp on April 20, 1927 and arrived in Quebec City on April 30, 1927. He was born in Klatnovej (Klatova Nova Ves). He was a farmer; he emigrated to Canada with the intent to farm. The documents also say his next of kin was his wife Katharina in Klatovejsa (actually his mother). His destination was Mr Van Scoy in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He travelled inland via CPR. In 1945 he is listed on the Voters' List for Churchill District (HBM or HBMS - Hudson Bay Mining/Hudson Bay Mining and Smelting). His wife is Mrs S. Alaksa. In 1946 he is listed on the Voters' List as machinist, living at 28 Hapnot Street, Flin Flon, MB. His wife is Anne. By 1949 she is a widow. |
