Obituary for George Hawkins A joyous reunion in Heaven for George Robert Hawkins on June 12, 2022 at the age of 94. Born March 19, 1928, on the family farm in Warwick Twp. The only son of Robert Hawkins and Addie Janes. Predeceased by his wife of 51 years Edith, Adeline MacKinlay (2003) and in-laws Edis on MacKinlay and Elizabeth Armstrong. Survived by his daughter, Beverly Elizabeth Hawkins and son-in-law, Henry Anjema (Sarnia). Also one granddaughter, Tiffany Anjema and Steve Brown (Corunna) and newest family addition, Barrett James Brown, great grandson. Also remembered by sister Janet Firman (Forest) and dear friend Mary Wagner (Wyoming).

George loved his hunting trips up north for moose and deer, and it was a yearly ritual to go “up with the gang”, making many friends in Northern Ontario. He also loved driving and received the “Grand Masters” award upon retirement for 37 years transport safe driving from Inter-City Canada. For many years he also collected farm tractors and rifles, which were of great interest to him.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life service at the Armstrong family plot at Wyoming Cemetery will take place on Saturday, June 18th at 2:00 p.m. All are welcome. Feel free to bring your lawn chairs.

In lieu of flowers, keeping in mind dad’s life of “a farmer at heart”; donations may be made to the Canadian Foodgrain Bank (https://foodgrainsbank.ca/donate/) or a charity of your choice would be most appreciated.
