Leola Loechelt Jacobson passed away peacefully on July 11, 2017 at age 78. She was the daughter of the late Lester & Lauretta Loechelt. Leigh grew up in greater Milwaukee, WI, attended Wauwatosa High School, & earned sociology degree at Mount Mary University, Milwaukee. Leigh had a big, beautiful smile that matched her heart. She was a very proud mother of four children, mortgage banker at NCNB & Cameron Brown, and exercise instructor at Mt. Holly-Belmont YMCA & Jewish Community Center, Charlotte. An excellent golfer, she won four club championships.

She was an active HOA board member, synagogue volunteer, chairperson of the Celebrating Life senior program, voting place check-in clerk, & kindergarten volunteer. Leigh was a member of Temple Beth El & Temple Israel, a member of Temple Israel Sisterhood, & a life member of Hadassah.

Memorial service will be Sunday, July, 16, 2017 at Temple Israel at 12 Noon. Shiva Minyans at Temple Beth El, Sunday July 16, 2017 at 5:30 PM, Monday July 17, 2017 at 7:30 PM, and at Temple Israel, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday July 18 - 20, 2017 at 7:30 PM.

Leigh was also predeceased by her stepfather, Charles Lacallade, daughters Patricia Lynn Deaton & Shelley Suzanne Mott, & son-in-law Bob Burdin. Survivors include daughter Lori Ann Burdin, Camden, SC, Thomas Christopher Alaksa (Jan), Reno, NV, former son-in-law David Mott, Mt. Holly, NC, grandchildren Ryan Phillips (Erin), Charleston, SC, Madison Phillips (fiancé John Walter Conder), Camden, SC, Lindy McKenzie Mott & Michael Patrick Mott, Mt. Holly, NC, and great granddaughter Sullivan Louise Phillips, Charleston, SC.
