OBITUARY (Strathroy, August 31, 1967)

Charles Giffen Charles Giffen, aged 84, died Wednesday, August 23, in Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital, after a lengthy illness. Mr. Giffen was predeceased by his wife, the former Annie Robotham.

Born in Adelaide Township, son of James Giffen and the former Mary Janes, Mr. Giffen farmed in Adelaide Township until his retirement 17 years ago.

He was a member of the Baptist Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Jack (Helen) Colvin and Mrs. Charlton (Evelyn) Sinker, both of RR 2, Ilderton, and two grandchildren, George and Janice Sinker, of RR 2, Ilderton. Two sisters, Mrs. Mae Hull of Windsor and Miss Sue Giffen, of London, also survive.

Rev. Reg Babbey, of the Poplar Hill Baptist Church, conducted funeral services for Mr. Giffen at the Denning Bros. Funeral Home, Metcalfe Strathroy, on Friday, August 25, at 2:30 p.m.

Pall bearers were Stanley Newell, Roy Kennings, George Robotham, Sherman Quinney, Gilbert Hall and Lloyd Robotham.

Interment was in Strathropy Cemetery.
